Earn legal education credits with the San Francisco Law Library

Attorneys: Find out how to earn Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credits at the library.

What to know

Who this is for:

Attorneys who practice in California, who must:

  • Earn 25 hours of MCLE credits every 3 years
  • Include required topics on ethics, bias, and competence in the legal profession
  • Have a mix of "self-study" and "participatory" credit hours

How you can earn credits through the library:

  • You can earn continuing legal education credit by attending certain free events
  • You can also earn credits with some of our self-study audio programs 

Self-study audio programs are $5 to check out, or $2 to use inside the library. Free for nonprofits.

What to do

Attend a free event

You can earn credit at many of our lunchtime programs. 

An event description will specify whether it counts for MCLE credit.
