The Newcomers Health Program provide special health exams and support services to new refugees.

Eligibility

Recently approved one of these statuses from the U.S. government : 

  • Asylum
  • Refugee
  • Victim of Trafficking
  • Humanitarian Parole from Cuba and Haiti

And you are now living in San Francisco, San Mateo County, or Marin County.

¿Qué hacer?

1. Learn about the benefits of a refugee health screening

  • Start a medical record in the U.S.

  • Meet with a doctor experienced working with refugees

  • Learn about your health status

  • Get medicine if needed

  • Get referrals to specialists

  • Get vaccines to stay healthy

  • Prepare for your green card medical exam

2. Check if you qualify

You are eligible for the refugee health screening if you:

  • Live in the City and County of San Francisco, San Mateo County, or Marin County, and
  • You were recently approved one of these statuses from the U.S. government: 
    • Asylum
    • Refugee
    • Victim of Trafficking
    • Humanitarian Parole from Cuba and Haiti

3. Fill out the health screening referral form

If you are eligible for the refugee health screening, fill out the Newcomers Health Program online referral form.
