There are different fees for each type of permit. Parklet fees are waived until March 31, 2023.

Parklet fees waived until 2023
Parking lane permit fees are waived until March 31, 2023. Parking lane license fees are waived for the first 2 years.
Fees
Fees range from $0 to $6,500 per permit depending on your permit type and other factors.
What to do
Check parking lane fees
Fees to use the parking lane, also called the curb lane, depend on:
- How many parking spaces you use
- Your type of use (public parklet, commercial parklet, or movable commercial parklet)
- Your gross receipts
- Whether or not you are a formula retail operator (with 11 more locations worldwide)
Waivers
Permit fees are waived until March 31, 2023. License fees are waived for first 2 years for existing permit holders.
Fees will not be waived for formula retail. Formula retail means you have 11 or more locations worldwide.
Public parklet
For businesses with more than $2million in gross receipts
- Permit fee: $1,000 for the first parking space and $250 for a second space
- Annual license fee: $100 per parking space
For businesses with less than $2million in gross receipts
- Permit fee: $500 for the first parking space and $125 for a second space
- Annual license fee: $50 per parking space
Fixed commercial parklet
For businesses with more than $2million in gross receipts
- Permit fee: $3,000 for the first parking space and $1,500 for a second space
- Annual license fee: $2,000 per parking space
For businesses with less than $2million in gross receipts
- Permit fee: $1,500 for the first parking space and $750 for a second space
- Annual license fee: $1,000 per parking space
Movable commercial parklet
For businesses with more than $2million in gross receipts
- Permit fee: $2,000 for the first parking space and $1,000 for a second space
- Annual license fee: $1,500 per parking space
For businesses with less than $2million in gross receipts
- Permit fee: $1,000 for the first parking space and $500 for a second space
- Annual license fee: $750 per parking space
All fees can go up every year based on the relevant Consumer Price Index.
Check sidewalk fees
Sidewalk fees are waived until March 31, 2023.
Sidewalks fees depend on:
- Your type of use (tables and chairs or display merchandise)
- Square footage of sidewalk you use
New tables and chairs permits
- $151 application fee
- Annual assessment of $8.50 per square foot of sidewalk space
Renewing tables and chairs permits
- $75 application fee
- Annual assessment of $7.25 per square foot of sidewalk space
Display merchandise permit
- $163 application fee
- Annual assessment of $11 per square foot of sidewalk space
For display merchandise, if your space has an enforcement or compliance issue, your annual assessment fee will be $9.75 per square foot of sidewalk space.
If you want to use the sidewalk for both tables and chairs and display merchandise, you will be charged both application fees. You will also tell us the square footage for each use on your application.
All fees can go up every year based on the relevant Consumer Price Index.
Board of appeals fees
We will charge a $9 fee for all Shared Spaces permits for the Board of Appeals.

For businesses with less than $2million in gross receipts
- Permit fee: $1,500 for the first parking space and $750 for a second space
- Annual license fee: $1,000 per parking space
Movable commercial parklet
For businesses with more than $2million in gross receipts
- Permit fee: $2,000 for the first parking space and $1,000 for a second space
- Annual license fee: $1,500 per parking space

- $151 application fee
- Annual assessment of $8.50 per square foot of sidewalk space
Renewing tables and chairs permits
- $75 application fee
- Annual assessment of $7.25 per square foot of sidewalk space
Display merchandise permit
- $163 application fee
- Annual assessment of $11 per square foot of sidewalk space
