1. Take a training for SF public health employees
To join, you need log-in credentials from the Department of Public Health.
- Practicing Cultural Humility and Collecting Information about Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity
For all Department of Public Health staff, contractors, and community partners who collect demographic and other information.
- Adult Transgender Cultural Competence and Cultural Humility: 101
Provide more culturally competent and welcoming services through an understanding of issues and trends affecting transgender people and their families.

SOC8 and Care Coordination Form training
Our training for primary care and mental health providers includes review of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care (SOC) 8. It also covers key aspects of the referral process and care coordination:
- SOC 8 & impact of new changes
- Documentation and the Care Coordination Form
- Education on talking about gender embodiment goals with patients
- Workflows and processes
Gender-affirming surgery and care education programming
We work with a robust team of surgeons in San Francisco and the Bay Area who offer education programming for providers and patients on gender-affirming surgery, procedure, and pre- and post-operative care.
Building capacity
We may be able to help your department or organization build capacity by assisting with referrals and resources, as well as potentially offer training and in-service topics. This can include:
- Trans-Cultural Humility 101 and 102
- Gender Health SF in-service, pre-surgical assessment, and other clinically focused information
