The Next Refuse Rate-Setting Process Has Begun
The Refuse Rate Administrator has released application materials for Rate Years 2026 - 2030, due 1/3/25. The public will be able to write Prop. F objections and comment at public meetings. The Refuse Rate Reform Ordinance Of 2022 amends the Refuse Collection and Disposal Ordinance (“the Refuse Ordinance”) to restructure the refuse rate setting process to replace hearings before the Department of Public Works with a requirement that the Controller, as Refuse Rate Administrator, regularly monitor the rates and appear before the Refuse Rate Board to recommend rate adjustments.
