Renew your permit to work with CFC refrigerants
We regulate businesses that service mobile chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) air conditioners.
Ano ang dapat malaman
We regulate businesses that still:
- repair
- install
- dismantle
- dispose
Air conditioning units that use CFCs.
To keep your permit, staff must:
- Take an EPA training course
- Pass a test
- Get certified
You must renew your permit every year.
Ano ang gagawin
Although we regulate this, new systems do not use CFCs. If you have an existing permit, we'll send you a renewal packet before your due date.
1. Contact us for information
Most businesses no longer work with CFCs. If you have questions about the use of CFCs, let us know.
2. Keep up necessary training
Staff who still use CFC equipment must take and pass a training course with the Environmental Protection Agency.
Topics cover how to:
- properly use equipment
- understand specific rules and regulations
- know the value of recycling refrigerants
- learn about ozone layer protection
After the course, staff must pass a test on these topics.
