Communication tips and resources for people with disabilities
Resources for communicating effectively with people with disabilities and listings of City approved vendors.
Introduction
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that people with disabilities can receive and communicate information as effectively as people without disabilities. The concept of “effective communication” is often accomplished through auxiliary aids and services such as communication devices, specific software, or service providers such as readers, sign language interpreters, etc. On this page, you will find resources for communicating effectively with individuals with various disabilities and listings of CCSF – approved vendors that provide these services. For additional information or resources not listed here, please feel free to contact the Mayor’s Office on Disability.
