Special cases

Applying for SF Shines for Reopening and Shared Spaces equity grant

We also offer a grant called SF Shines for Reopening

Individual businesses with Shared Spaces permits may apply for both grants.

An individual business will not receive more than $5,000 in all from both SF Shines for Reopening and Shared Spaces equity.

Why are we offering equity grants for small businesses?

Equity grants provide funding and in-kind services for small neighborhood-serving businesses to set up and expand outdoor Shared Spaces.

The Shared Spaces equity grants help make sure that small businesses across all neighborhoods and demographics can safely move activities outdoors, especially in those communities which were already vulnerable before the COVID-19 pandemic.
