You can get a safety escort during working hours in neighborhoods that have Community Ambassadors.

You can get an escort in the Bayview, Chinatown, Haight-Ashbury, Lower Haight, Hayes Valley, Fillmore, Mid-Market, Tenderloin, Mission, Visitacion Valley, and Portola.
What to do
1. Call 311
2. Ask for a Community Ambassador safety escort.
Tell them where you are.
Tell them where you need to go.
3. 311 will connect you to an Ambassador
4. You and the Ambassador agree where and when to meet.
The Ambassador will usually get there within 15 minutes.
