Amerika Sanchez

Amerika Sanchez is a dedicated school principal who works tirelessly to foster educational and workforce opportunities for a diverse array of students. Through her work with Five Keys Schools and Programs, Amerika collaborates with community-based organizations and local government entities to support various demographics and neighborhoods in San Francisco. She leads educational programs that provide service to economically disadvantaged persons, English Language Learners, older adult students, transitional age youth, incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals, with the long-term goal of improving students’ economic prospects and overall quality of life. Her 12 years of service in alternative school settings, stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment to social equity and her belief in the transformative power of education.

In addition to her role as principal, Amerika serves as the Vice President of Policy and Advocacy for the Eastern Neighborhoods Democratic Club and is a former Vice Chair of the Southeast Community Facilities Commission. Her community leadership has enabled her to serve on multiple grant and RFP review panels for San Francisco programs and departments. Amerika is a proud resident of Bayview-Hunters Point, where she began and cultivated her passion for civic engagement.
