Rick Swig
Commissioner
Rick Swig operates RSBA & Associates, providing advisory services for the hospitality industry including asset management, hotel operations reviews, asset strategy development, and acquisition due diligence, major hotel management and operating companies, as well as to owners of individual hotels and portfolios. He has also been an investor in hotels since 1989 and currently owns the Napa Winery Inn in Napa, California. His background includes a career with Fairmont Hotels, where he rose to be the Vice-President and Managing Director of the Fairmont Hotel Management Company.
Mr. Swig served four years as a member of the San Francisco Redevelopment Commission, including one as President. Other organizations with which he has been involved include serving as President of the Hospitality Asset Managers Association, as a member and former Chair of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, and as Chair of the San Francisco Travel Association. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Visit Napa Valley and on the Advisory Board of the Bill Graham Foundation.
Mr. Swig is a graduate of Stanford University. He lives in the Marina District with his wife. They are the parents of two grown children. Mr. Swig was appointed to the Board of Appeals by Board of Supervisors President London Breed on April 2, 2015, and reappointed on July 26, 2016. Thereafter, he was appointed by Mayor London Breed on August 18, 2020. His term will expire on July 1, 2024.
