Publish your FBN
Have you completed and filed your FBN Statement form? Next step is to publish your FBN.

Important timing:
- Your first publication must be within 45 days from the day you filed your FBN Statement. Then you must publish 3 more times, weekly, for a total of 4 publications.
- If your first publication appears after the 45 day requirement, you will need to file a new FBN Statement and pay the fees again.

Choose a newspaper
Choose a San Francisco court approved newspaper to publish with.
Contact the newspaper you choose
Tell them you recently filed your FBN Statement and are required to publish. Give them a copy of your filing receipt from the County Clerk’s Office.
Newspapers might not be able to publish immediately, so contact them ASAP. Your first publication needs to appear within 45 days after you filed. If not, you will need to file a new FBN Statement and pay the fees again.
Get a Proof of Publication
Right after the 4th publication, contact the newspaper. This is to make sure they send you a Proof of Publication. You need this to file with the County Clerk’s Office as the 5th and last step.
