SERVICE

Request a pest exclusion inspection

Get an inspection to prevent exotic pests in San Francisco or certify your plant products going to other states or countries.

What to know

Cost

Most pest exclusion inspections are free.

If you need a Phytosanitary Certificate to ship plants and plant products to foreign countries, there is a fee.

Protect the environment and California agriculture

California's unique environment is vulnerable to damage by invasive species. Exotic organisms can arrive in California accidentally by hiding on imported goods.

What to do

If you received a notice about a shipment, contact us. Notices include:

  • A plant shipment Warning Hold Notice
  • A Notice of Rejection for a plant shipment
  • A Notice of Quarantine Shipment

If you are shipping plant material from an area under quarantine for the Glassy-winged Sharpshooter send us your shipping notification.

If you need a Phytosanitary Certificate to ship your plant products to other states or countries:

  1. Create a USDA account
  2. Make sure you understand the requirements of the country your shipment is going to

Once you have applied for your certificate with the USDA, we will contact you schedule an inspection of your shipment.
