For information related to the Rent Board Fee or San Francisco's Housing Inventory reporting requirements, call 311 or 415-701-2311 from outside San Francisco.
Phone counseling is available Monday through Friday, 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm.
We provide counseling on subjects related to the Rent Ordinance. We cannot give legal advice. We will let you know when your question is one that should be answered by a lawyer.
Due to high demand and a limited number of staff, it may take a while to speak with a counselor. Have your questions written down before you speak with us.
Calls are generally limited to 5 minutes.

Counseling visits at the office are generally limited to 10 minutes.
