Apply to sell produce you grow at a certified farmers’ market

Become a certified producer to sell your produce at any Certified Farmers’ Market (CFM) in California.

What to know

You need a business license

Make sure you have a registered business before you start. You will need your business account number.

To sell at a farmers' market

You will need to become a Certified Producer.  Click here to learn more.

You need to get approved by the manager of the specific markets you are interested in.  

What to do

1. Apply for a Certified Producer Certificate (CPC)

You need a Certified Producer Certificate from the California Department of Food and Agriculture issued by the County Agricultural Commissioner in the county where the produce was grown

2. If you are growing in San Francisco you will need to get an inspection from an Agricultural Inspector
