The Sheriff's Department Oversight Board (SDOB) was approved by San Francisco voters in 2020.

The SDOB will evaluate the work of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). 

The OIG will take over the work started by the Department of Police Accountability (DPA) to investigate allegations of misconduct by sheriff's deputies.

Board members are appointed by the Mayor and the Board of Supervisors.

 

We are the oversight body of the Office of the Inspector General.
