Have had a Green Card for at least 5 years (or at least 3 years if married to a citizen)
-
Are 18 and over
-
Have all your documents and information for your application.
2. Find an upcoming workshop
See a list of upcoming workshops. In-person workshops are by appointment only. To register, call one of the multilingual hotlines listed on this page.
Or you can start your citizenship application from home. Once you complete the online application, we will connect you with our immigration experts for a final review.
3. Get help paying your application fee
If you are on public benefits, you may qualify for a fee waiver from US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS). We can help you fill it out.
If you do not qualify for the fee waiver, you can still get a zero-interest loan to cover some or all of the application fee.
Why we help people apply for citizenship
We know becoming a citizen provides many benefits and increased opportunities for immigrants. OCEIA and the San Francisco Pathways to Citizenship Initiative helps immigrants navigate the process.
