If a City department has not been hiring or promoting employees fairly, you can ask for an investigation.

Anyone can request an investigation

You can request one without giving your name (anonymously)

We do not have deadlines for requesting an investigation

You may request an investigation at any time 

What to do

1. Learn about the inspection and audit process

2. Gather the information you want to tell us

When you contact us, be ready to share any details that could help us understand the situation.

For example:

  • What happened?
  • When did it happen?
  • What City and County department was involved?
  • What job classification does this relate to?
  • Any documents related to the problem (job application, emails, job announcements)
  • Does the problem involve another person(s)? If so, please provide names?
